Pakistan has secured a new beef export order worth $7.5 million from China, reflecting the rising demand for halal protein products in the Chinese market.

The Organic Meat Company informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange that it will complete the order during the 2025–26 fiscal year. Under this agreement, the company will supply cooked, frozen, and boneless beef from Pakistan to China, ensuring it meets international food safety and halal certification standards.

The company also stated that it signed this deal under the framework of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which serves as an important platform for boosting trade between Pakistan and China.

According to the company, demand for halal-certified meat and protein products is growing rapidly in China, opening new opportunities for Pakistani suppliers.

Industry experts see this deal as a major milestone for Pakistan’s meat export industry, which is actively working to expand its presence in East Asian markets.

A senior government official called the deal “another successful effort by Pakistan to achieve new export targets and meet China’s growing demand.”

The company added that the beef supplied under this agreement will strictly follow international quality standards. It already exports meat to several countries in the Middle East and South Asia, and entering China means gaining access to the world’s largest consumer market.

Economic experts believe this agreement will boost Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves and increase investor confidence. Although Pakistan’s meat export industry has grown significantly in recent years, it still faces challenges like infrastructure gaps, quality control requirements, and strong competition from experienced exporters such as Australia and Brazil.

In this context, the deal with China is not only economically beneficial but also a strategic success under CPEC. Shipments of beef to China are expected to begin within the current fiscal year, with more orders likely based on performance and demand.
