ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced updated fees for the National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) for Pakistani citizens living in South Africa.

The NICOP is an important document for overseas Pakistanis, as it confirms their Pakistani citizenship and gives them access to several benefits. Family members of overseas Pakistanis can also apply for NICOP.

Key Benefits of NICOP:

  • Visa-Free Entry: Holders can enter Pakistan without a visa using their foreign passport.

  • Proof of Citizenship: Official recognition as a Pakistani citizen.
  • Property Rights: Ability to buy and sell property in Pakistan.
  • Banking Services: Eligible to open and use bank accounts in Pakistan.
  • Passport: Can apply for a Pakistani passport.
  • Voting Rights: Can vote while in Pakistan.

Where to Apply:

Pakistani citizens can apply for NICOP at any NADRA Registration Center in Pakistan or at Pakistani embassies abroad. Overseas Pakistanis can also use NADRA’s Pak-Identity app to apply online from anywhere in the world.

Updated NICOP Fee for South Africa (Zone B):

  • Normal: PKR 5,500 (around USD 20)
  • Urgent: PKR 8,300 (around USD 30)
