PTI workers allegedly attack BOL News reporter outside Adiala Jail
RAWALPINDI: Supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) allegedly attacked a BOL News reporter outside Adiala Jail on Monday, sparking outrage among journalists.
Witnesses said PTI workers lost control and physically assaulted the reporter, with videos showing scenes of harassment and manhandling. Despite the violence, PTI leaders present at the scene reportedly did not intervene to stop their supporters.
The situation escalated further when Senator Faisal Javed and PTI founder’s sisters were present, during which journalists were subjected to verbal abuse and threats. PTI leader Naeem Haider Panjhotha was also accused of using foul language against journalist Tayyab Baloch.
Police later detained several PTI workers at Gate One of Adiala Jail, but many of those involved in the assault managed to escape. Reports suggest that some senior PTI workers also participated in the attack.
The incident has raised serious concerns over the safety of journalists covering political events, with media representatives demanding accountability for those involved.
