Severe flooding has hit Rahim Yar Khan after a breach in a protective embankment along the Indus River, causing widespread destruction in nearby villages.

Water from the river rushed into residential areas after the Zamindara Bund in Rasool Pur collapsed. Entire farmlands and houses are now underwater, forcing families to evacuate with their livestock. Many residents are trying to reinforce the embankment on their own to stop further damage.

Floodwater has badly affected villages, including Rasool Pur and Kacha Chohan, while a strong flood wave of about 749,592 cusecs is currently passing through Chachran, worsening the situation.

Rising water pressure is also threatening other protective barriers. The local administration has deployed heavy machinery near Ehsan Pur to strengthen the embankments, but residents say they have received no relief or support so far. Many are relocating to safer areas on their own and are in urgent need of food, shelter, and medical help.
