Sindh Local By-Elections: PPP wins 16 seats
KARACHI: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) secured a strong lead in the Sindh local government by-elections, winning 16 seats out of the results announced so far.
According to the Election Commission, results from 19 out of 28 seats have been announced. PPP claimed victory on 16 seats, while Jamaat-e-Islami, the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA), and one independent candidate each won a single seat.
Polling took place across 14 districts of Sindh. Election officials said the voting process remained peaceful, with no major incidents reported.
The final results for the remaining nine seats will be announced soon. Political observers believe PPP’s success in these by-elections further strengthens its control at the local level in Sindh.
