Weather update; Rain predicted in upper parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Partly cloudy weather with chances of light rain is expected in the upper districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on next two days, with breaks in between.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said that continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country, while a weak westerly wave is likely to reach the far northern areas by tomorrow evening.

Under these conditions, dry weather is expected in Peshawar and most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday night. On Tuesday and the next two days, most areas of the province will see mainly dry weather, with hot conditions in the plains during the day. However, some places including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, and nearby areas may experience partly cloudy weather with light rain or thunderstorms.

In Peshawar, maximum temperatures are expected to stay between 36°C and 38°C on Tuesday and Wednesday, and between 35°C and 37°C on Thursday.

Over the past 24 hours, hot and dry weather continued in most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Dera Ismail Khan and Bannu were the hottest areas with maximum temperatures of 38°C. In Peshawar, the maximum temperature reached 37°C, while evening humidity was recorded at 51 percent.
