RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Army’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), has announced that security forces successfully conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Tank district, eliminating eight Indian-sponsored militants belonging to the proxy group Fitna al-Khawarij.

According to the ISPR, the operation was launched after receiving credible intelligence about the presence of terrorists in the area. During the operation, a fierce exchange of fire took place between the security forces and the militants.

ISPR reported that eight foreign terrorists, backed by India, were killed in the operation. A large cache of weapons and ammunition was also recovered from their possession.

The statement confirmed that the slain terrorists were involved in multiple attacks targeting security forces, law enforcement agencies, and innocent civilians in the region.

Following the encounter, security forces launched a thorough sanitization operation to clear the area of any remaining Indian-sponsored militants and ensure lasting stability.
