Free school meal program expands to 10 more districts in Punjab

The Punjab government has decided to expand its School Meal Program to 10 more districts in the province.

In this new phase, the program will start in Bhakkar, Mianwali, Layyah, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Muzaffargarh, Chiniot, Rahim Yar Khan, Lodhran, and Vehari.

The purpose of the initiative is to provide free meals to students from grades one to five, improving their nutrition and encouraging regular school attendance.

The provincial education minister said that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has also approved setting up new Danish Schools in Sarai Alamgir and Phool Nagar to give more students access to quality education.
