Islamabad: Federal Minister for Health Syed Mustafa Kamal has brought good news for employees of his ministry by securing an agreement on the restoration of the health risk allowance. According to a spokesperson for the health ministry, Kamal persuaded Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb to approve the long-standing demand.

The health minister, along with Federal Secretary for Health Hamid Yaqoob, met the finance minister to discuss the issue faced by employees of federal hospitals across the country. After detailed talks, Aurangzeb agreed in principle to restore the health risk allowance, which had been frozen since 2014.

The finance ministry will now forward the summary to the Prime Minister for final approval, the spokesperson confirmed. Once approved, the allowance will provide long-awaited relief to health workers in federal hospitals.
