LAHORE: Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb has said that nine departments are actively taking part in a large-scale anti-smog operation across Punjab, following the instructions of the Chief Minister.
In her statement, Marriyum Aurangzeb said that brick kilns are being closely monitored with live reporting, while smog guns, air quality monitors, and other anti-smog equipment are working in the field.
“For the first time in Punjab’s history, an operation is being carried out with the help of AQI forecasting,” she said. The minister added that immediate raids are being conducted in high-risk areas using data from the weather monitoring center.
Marriyum Aurangzeb also mentioned that the traffic police have imposed a ban on the movement of trucks and other heavy vehicles to help reduce pollution.
