Moon sighted in Pakistan: Jumada al-Awwal 1447 begins tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: The crescent for Jumada-al-Awwal 1447 AH has been sighted in Pakistan, and consequently, the first day of the Islamic month will fall on Friday, October 24, 2025.

The announcement was made following a meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee held under the chairmanship of Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad to determine the sighting of the moon.

According to a spokesperson of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the committee received credible testimonies from various parts of the country confirming the sighting of the crescent.

Spokesperson said “In light of the received testimonies, the chairman of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee officially declared that the moon of Jumada-al-Awwal has been sighted”.

Following the confirmation, the Ministry of Religious Affairs issued a formal notification stating that 1st Jumada-al-Awwal 1447 AH will be observed on Friday, October 24.
