The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has approved an increase of 8 paisa per unit in electricity prices.

According to reports on Tuesday, this increase comes under the fuel price adjustment for August and will apply to electricity consumers across the country, including Karachi.

It is worth mentioning that in September, Nepra had announced a decrease of Rs1.78 per unit in electricity prices, giving some relief to consumers. The reduction was made under the fuel cost adjustment for July, and the benefit appeared in electricity bills issued in September.
