The United Nations has once again acknowledged Pakistan’s active and effective role as the country has been elected a member of the UN Human Rights Council for the 2026–2028 term.

Pakistan, along with 13 other countries, has secured membership in the Council following the recent elections.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar expressed gratitude to the UN member states for their support, saying, “By the grace of Allah, Pakistan has been elected to the UN Human Rights Council by an overwhelming majority.”

He added that Pakistan’s success reflects international recognition of its commitment to promoting human rights at the global level. Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to continue cooperating with the international community in advancing shared human rights goals.
