The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted a new spell of rain starting tonight in both the upper and plain areas of the country.

According to the forecast, rain is expected this evening in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad and Punjab. Some places may also experience heavy rainfall along with hailstorms.

The weather department said that the rain is likely to continue on and off in different areas until October 7.

The spell of rain could disrupt daily life and may cause damage to weak structures such as mud houses, fragile walls, electricity poles, billboards, vehicles and solar panels.
