CHAMAN: Afghan elements opened unprovoked fire on Pakistani border posts near the Chaman border, prompting a swift and responsible response from Pakistan’s security forces.

According to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the firing began from the Afghan side. Pakistani forces immediately returned fire in a professional and controlled manner, quickly bringing the situation under control.

The ministry rejected Afghanistan’s claims regarding the incident and clarified that Pakistan acted only in response to the aggression. It added that due to the timely and responsible action of Pakistani forces, the situation at the border has now normalized, and the ceasefire remains in place.

Pakistan expressed hope that Afghan authorities would cooperate to maintain peace along the border and reaffirmed its commitment to ongoing talks for regional stability.

Following the incident, security has been further tightened in border areas, and Pakistani forces remain fully prepared to handle any situation.
