After the defeat on the eastern front, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been left speechless, said Defence Minister Khawaja Asif.

He stated that the process of deporting illegal Afghan nationals must continue and clarified that no trade is taking place at the Torkham border. The border, he said, has been opened only for the repatriation of undocumented Afghans.

Khawaja Asif mentioned that, for the first time, the issue of Afghan citizens has been discussed at the international level. He added that Türkiye and Qatar are playing an effective mediating role in this matter.

The minister further said that, in the past, Afghanistan did not recognize the presence of illegal Afghans as its own problem. During recent discussions held in Türkiye, it was agreed that if any unlawful activity originates from Afghan soil, Afghanistan will be responsible for addressing it.

He emphasized that Pakistan is not involved in any violations; rather, it is Afghanistan that has been breaching peace. He added that Afghanistan is wrongly suggesting that Pakistan’s establishment is influencing the process, while in reality, representatives from all four involved countries’ establishments are participating in the mediation.
