ISLAMABAD: Pakistan issued a travel advisory on Friday, advising its citizens to refrain from unnecessary travel to Syria due to the ongoing conflict between rebel groups and the Syrian government.

The Foreign Office issued a statement urging Pakistani nationals to avoid visiting Syria until the situation improves. It further cautioned those already in Syria to exercise extreme caution and maintain contact with the Embassy of Pakistan in Damascus.

The Foreign Office provided the following contact details for the embassy: Cell/WhatsApp: +963 987 127 822; +963 990 138 972; Email: [email protected].

In a separate development, Pakistan reiterated its commitment to fostering cooperative relations with all its neighboring countries, including India.

During a weekly news briefing in Islamabad, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch emphasized that Pakistan advocates for constructive engagement and dialogue to resolve all outstanding issues, including the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.

However, Baloch noted that the political will for resolving these disputes through dialogue seems to be lacking on India’s part. She stressed that Pakistan believes in peaceful coexistence and seeks peace and stability in the region, adding that despite the challenges in bilateral relations, Pakistan has continued to act responsibly.

Baloch urged India to create a conducive environment for advancing peace and dialogue to resolve longstanding disputes.
