FIA commercial baking circle Peshawar arrest three involved in hawala-hundi

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Commercial Baking Circle of Peshawar arrested three suspects involved in hawala-hundi and illegal exchange of currency from Mardan and Kohat on Saturday.

During the raid, substantial sums of money worth over 0.2 million rupees were recovered from the accused.

The arrested individuals were found to be running money exchange businesses without the necessary licenses.

The apprehended suspects include Usman Akbar, Owais, and Muhammad Salman.

The arrests took place in various locations, including Swabi, Dean Chowk Peshawar, and Kohat Bazar.

Additionally, records pertaining to hawala-hundi were also found in the possession of the accused.

However, the accused were unable to provide satisfactory explanations to the authorities regarding the recovered currency.

As a result, cases have been registered against them, and further raids are being conducted to apprehend any other individuals involved in these illegal activities, as confirmed by the FIA spokesperson.
