ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi urged the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to carry out its constitutional responsibility.

He was addressing the media in regard to the verdict in the Toshakhana reference against Imran Khan that is to be announced today.

Qureshi said that the election commission should not be used to proceed with the ‘minus-one’ formula adding that the formula will be against the nation’s expectations.

While condemning the attack on PTI leader Bilal Ghaffar, he said that the complaint in this regard was made to the ECP but no action was taken. Violation of the code of conduct was witnessed during the by-polls however, no investigation was carried out by the concerned authorities.

The PTI leader also asserted that the PTI is the only political party that has provided ample details regarding the funds and no other political party cooperated with the electoral watchdog the way PTI did.
