Protests were held in Tharparkar against Imran Khan’s disqualification. In Mithi, PTI workers staged a rally and blocked Kashmir Chowk. PTI leaders Krishan Sharma, Qurban Samejo and Ghuman Bheel participated in the rally.

The protestors raised slogans against the ECP. ‘Imran Khan is our red line,’ they said, adding PDM’s desire to minus Imran Khan will not be fulfilled. The protestors said they will wait for Imran Khan’s call and there will be severe reaction over any attempt to harm him.

In Sanghar, a protest was held outside the press club. The protests staged a rally under leadership of Divisional Vice President Mushtaq Junejo. They burnt tyres and raised slogans against the ECP.

PTI workers have ended the protests in Peshawar. The Motorway Toll Plaza and GT Road have been opened for traffic. PTI leaders said they wanted to stage a peaceful protest.

In Quetta, PTI workers stage a sit-in at Manan Chowk against Imran Khan’s disqualification. The protest burnt tyres to record their protests. PTI local leaders addressed the protests. PTI MNA Munawar Munir said the decision of the controversial Chief Election Commission (CEC) is not acceptable.

He said the disqualification verdict is not the ECP but rather PDM’s decision. He said the nation is awakened and will not fall victim to the looters. He said they strongly condemn the decision and will challenge it in court.

In Faisalabad, PTI workers also stage protests against Imran Khan’s disqualification that disrupted the traffic system. The protests were held at Sargodha Road, Allied Mor, GTS Chowk, and District Council Chowk.

A massive jam was witnessed at Samundri Road after the closure of Abdullahpur Chowk. PTI local leader Nadeem Aftab led the protest and blocked the Aminpur Bangla Interchange.

A heavy contingent of police have been deployed outside the ECP’s office in Karachi. SSP Clifton Ahmed Chaudhry said more than 50 policemen have been deployed at the gate of the election commission.

He said two platoons and anti-riot force have been deployed while female personnel are also present to deal with the situation.

In Multan, PTI activists stage a protest and blocked the M-9 Motorway. PTI District and City organization held a protest at Baliwala Interchange. PTI District President Khalid Javed Warraich and PTI City President Adana Dogar led the protest.

The protestors raised slogans against Imran Khan’s disqualification. The flow of traffic was disrupted at the motorway as the PTI workers stopped their cars and motorcycles on the motorway.

In Gujrat, PTI workers staged a protest against Imran Khan’s disqualification and blocked the GT Road from Shaheen Chowk onwards. As a result, traffic coming between Lahore and Islamabad was severely disrupted.

PTI District President MPA Chaudhry Aslam said the GT Road has been completely blocked at four different locations.

In Lahore, lawyers held a protest against Imran Khan’s disqualification. The Insaf Lawyers held a protest at GPO Chowk and closed the road. They also set tyres on fire to record their protest and raised slogans against the election commission.

A protest was also held at Jail Road in Lahore. PTI leader Andleeb Abbas arrived to convince the protestors to shift their protest to no avail. The protestors said they will not move until they receive orders from Imran Khan.

In Rawalpindi, PTI activists held a protest at Faizabad. Islamabad Police stopped the protestors from entering the federal capital. Police resorted to disperse after the protestors continued to march.

A massive traffic jam was witnessed at Nursery as a large number of vehicles line. SSP East arrived at the scene to negotiate with the protestors to move from the busy thoroughfare.

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announced Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan disqualified in the Toshakhana disqualification case under Article 63.

A five member bench of the commission headed by CEC Sikandar Sultan Raja announced the verdict. The commission also directed to proceed with the action against corrupt practices in the decision and his parliamentarian ship was also quashed.

ECP has called all relevant parties or their representatives to appear before the electoral body and the verdict will be announced at 2 pm. To avoid any untoward incident, security has been tightened on the premises and heavy contingents of Rangers, FC and Police are being deployed.

Not only this, massive tear gas shells are also being provided to the security personnel keeping in view the possibility of protests by the PTI workers. The ECP had reserved its verdict in the Toshakhana reference on September 19.

Toshakhana case was filed against PTI Chairman Imran Khan by the coalition government for not showing the details of the gifts Khan received as prime minister.

The reference against PTI chief was filed along with documentary evidence and sought his disqualification under Sections 2 and 3 of Article 63.

The lawmakers from the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) submitted the reference to the National Assembly speaker who subsequently forwarded it to the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikander Sultan Raja.

On September 19, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) reserved its verdict on Imran Khan’s disqualification for failing to declare the Tosha Khana gifts.
