The Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Kate Middleton were spotted for the first time following Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral on Thursday, and royal admirers showered them with love and appreciation.

When Kate first arrived at Windsor’s Guildhall to meet the volunteers and operational personnel who were in charge of organising Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral, she was all smiles.

The unsung heroes organised porta potties, bins, road signs, and moved flowers among other tasks behind the scenes on the service day and in the days leading up to it.

One fan commented on the photos of Kate by writing on Twitter, “Beautiful couple.”

They also said “Proud of the Prince and Princess they have held up well over the past day, but the days ahead of them will be sad, but the rest of the country is with them. God bless.”

Another user commented, “A nice gesture for the Prince and Princess of Wales to take time out of their mourning period to personally thank unsung heroes.”

In keeping with the seven-day period of royal mourning, Kate and William both wore black to the engagement.
