This week saw the debut of King Charles III’s first Christmas card, which features both the monarch and his wife, Queen Consort Camilla.

Just five days before Queen Elizabeth II passed away, on September 3, 2022, the lovely photo was apparently taken. A message was concealed in the celebratory image.

King Charles, Queen Camilla recreates THIS picture for Christmas

It was taken at the Braemar Games, which have been a favourite of the royal family since since Queen Victoria went for the first time in September 1848. The mother of the new King of Britain was also well known to be a huge fan of the Games and always seemed to be in a fantastic mood whenever she went.

Notably, Charles attended for the first time in his mother’s 70-year reign in the Christmas card portrait; the first time she was unable to go was in 2022.

The image was possibly picked to represent this change and show Charles’s wish to carry on his mother’s traditions.
