Koo Stark, a well-known actress, was Prince Andrew‘s girlfriend before she wed Sarah Ferguson.

In 1982, Koo’s decision to perform in a lesbian shower scene in a motion picture caused the breakup of his relationship.

“We do not know if the Queen was aware of the girl’s acting career before she was invited to Balmoral,” the Palace stated in response to the incident at the time.

At that point, Sarah Ferguson, the daughter of King Charles’ Polo manager, was introduced to Andrew by Princess Diana.

They clicked right away, and a few months later they announced their engagement.

“I asked Sarah some weeks ago and Sarah said yes. Which surprised me,” Andrew said at the time.
