King Charles’s concerns do not appear to be going away anytime soon, as statements made by Prince Harry in his memoir add to the monarch’s concerns.

According to a new revelation, Australian republican campaigners are taking advantage of the Duke’s charges against the royal family.

In the ghost-written book, the Duke of Sussex criticises his father King Charles III, stepmother Camilla, and brother William.

Philip Benwell, National Chair of the Australian Monarchist League, said it is “such a shame” the Royal Family is being “attacked” following the publication of the Duke of Sussex’s controversial book Spare.

The Royal Family, according to Sandy Biar, National Director and CEO of the Australian Republic Movement, is dysfunctional, and support for a republic has grown in the last four months.

During that time, King Charles III succeeded Elizabeth II, the Sussexes’ Netlfix series aired, and Spare was published worldwide.

“We can do better than inheriting our Head of State from a dysfunctional family on the other side of the planet,” Mr Biar remarked.

When asked how Spare has damaged monarchy support in Australia, Mr Benwell said: “Republicans are using it to suggest the Royal Family are dysfunctional, but I don’t think it is getting them very far. [Republicans] pounced on the comment Harry made in regard to racism, which he’s since retracted. But it’s not gaining any headway.”
