At an impending coronation ceremony in May, King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla will be crowned on the two new thrones.

Charles is expected to become the 27th king to be crowned in the chair, which King Edward I commissioned in 1296.

According to a royal source stated, “There is always a new throne for a new monarch and this will be no exception.”

Previously, two chairs were created for Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation: the Chair of Estate and the Throne Chair.

The Chair of Estate, made of beech wood and with a lower back, was used during the ceremony at Westminster Abbey.

As preparations for the coronation continue, it has been revealed that Prince Harry will travel to the UK without Meghan Markle.

According to the Daily Mail, a source called the rumours “Harry in a hurry,” indicating that Meghan Markle’s wife will not join Harry to King Charles’ coronation in May.

The Suit alum will also remain in the United States to celebrate Archie’s fourth birthday, according to the source.
