According to a news outlet, the grandchildren of Queen Consort Camila will play a key part in King Charles’ coronation alongside Prince George as successor to the throne.

Camilla has stated that she would like her five grandkids, Lola and Eliza, both 15, Freddy, 13, and twins Louis and Gus, both 13, to hold the canopy over her while she gets anointed with holy oil on May 6.

According to the Daily Mail, duchesses have previously played the position, which is regarded one of the most solemn portions of the ritual.

‘The Queen Consort has declared she does not want duchesses,’ a royal insider said. She would like it to be her grandchildren.’

Likewise, it’s unclear if King Charles’ grandchildren Archie and Lilibet will accompany their parents, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, to the coronation.

The maternal uncle of Prince William and Prince Harry is not planning to attend King Charles’ coronation in May.

Charles Spencer, Diana’s younger brother, discussed the impending event on Monday’s episode of the Off Air… with Jane and Fi podcast.

When asked if he would attend the coronation, he replied, “I wouldn’t have thought so — I think it’s only about 2,000 people going.”

Spencer responded to another inquiry by saying, “I think of Diana every day, in a different context. Actually, the whole royal thing, I don’t find it as interesting as a lot of people, you know? I just get on with my life,” Charles said. “I look after what I have to look after at the estate, and I have a career, write books and such… People obviously assume that I care a lot about that side of things, but it’s just a side part of my life.”
