At their California estate in Montecito on Friday, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry celebrated the christening of their daughter Princess Lilibet Diana.

The 21-month-old princess was christened by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in a private service. King Charles, Queen Consort Camilla, Prince William, and Kate Middleton were all invited, but they declined to come.

In accordance with regulations established by King George V in 1917, Meghan and Harry’s son Archie and daughter Lilibet received the titles of prince and princess soon after King Charles III succeeded to the British monarchy following the death of Queen Elizabeth III in September.

Harry and Meghan’s friend Omid Scobie published the information on Twitter on Tuesday: “I can confirm that Princess Lilibet Diana was christened on Friday, March 3 by the Archbishop of Los Angeles, the Rev John Taylor.”

As first reported by @People, a Sussex rep confirms: “I can confirm that Princess Lilibet Diana was christened on Friday, March 3 by the Archbishop of Los Angeles, the Rev John Taylor.”

The biography further asserted that although Prince William, Princess Kate, King Charles, and Queen Consort Camilla were invited, they declined to attend the ceremony.

Reverend John Taylor, the Los Angeles Anglican Bishop, baptised Lilibet. Doria Ragland, Meghan’s mother, was also present for the gathering.
