Prince Harry and Meghan Markle upset with royal family
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle appear to have severed all links with their royal kin by avoiding Lilibet’s British baptism.
This move by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex is being viewed as a new affront to the royal family, who did not attend the event despite being invited by the Sussex.
Meghan and Harry allegedly left his father, King Charles III, and brother, Prince William, upset with their decision to christen Princess Lilibet on Friday in a modest ceremony at Montecito house in California.
By commemorating the customary ritual of christening their daughter with their American friends, the couple has conveyed a message to the place.
An insider has claimed that “royal family did not like Meghan and Harry’s move to hold Lilibet’ christening event at their new home in California.”
Harry and Meghan, who stood down as senior working royals in 2020 and migrated to the United States, chose an Anglican baptism for their youngest daughter instead of a British one. Tyler Perry, the couple’s rich godfather, was also present.
Reverend John Taylor, the Anglican Bishop of Los Angeles, baptised the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s 21-month-old daughter. Doria Ragland, Meghan’s mother, was also present at the occasion.
