On March 14, King Charles, Queen Consort Camilla, Prince William, Kate Middleton, and other senior royals will attend the annual Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey, which will be the royal family’s largest joint engagement of the year thus far.

During the ceremony, the 74-year-old monarch will give the inaugural Commonwealth Day Message as King from the Great Pulpit.

He will subsequently host a reception at Buckingham Palace for the Commonwealth Secretary-General, High Commissioners, Foreign Affairs Ministers, and other Commonwealth members.

In recent years, the event has gained notoriety as the last official royal engagement attended by Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle before they stand down as working royals in March 2020.

Although Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II did not attend last year’s Commonwealth Day Ceremony, it is the first since her death.

Buckingham Palace has released information about the service ahead of time, detailing what royal observers might expect.
