Junaid Akram, a renowned Pakistani YouTuber widely recognized as Ganji Swag, pioneered the YouTube scene in Pakistan long before vlogging became popular. Known for his incisive social commentary, he initially gained traction with viral videos filmed in Dubai, establishing himself as a prominent social media influencer. Over time, Akram’s stardom has soared, particularly through his podcasts and diverse video content, where he often delves into political and social issues.

Recently, Akram shared his thoughts on vloggers and social media influencers during a television appearance. He expressed concern about the prevailing trend of prioritizing virality over substance, noting a growing obsession with garnering attention at any cost.

He said, “I think most people even do marriages to go viral, just like Mera Dil Yeh Pukare Aaja girl. Talking about why, youngsters are opting for YouTube as a career, he said, “In fact, people find it difficult to earn through a small business (like french a fries shop) . They think that they will be working hard for years and they will not be able to see the fruits of their hard work. Also, people want to do anything on the internet in order to get famous because internet ensures an instant success. So, they have started making videos, it is a good income source”.

He additionally expressed his desire to elevate YouTube content to a new level. He said, “YouTube is a very famous platform in Pakistan and it should be used to telecast star studded big budget series”.
