Mehreen Jabbar, an ace director of Pakistani dramas and films, has delivered some of the best content on Pakistani television throughout her two-decade-long career. She directed popular dramas like “Daam”, “Doraha”, “Dobara Phir Se”, and “Mata e Jaan Hai Tu”, which continue to captivate audiences today.

Mehreen Jabbar has returned with the drama “Nadaan” which tackles major societal issues. She is also gearing up for a big project, likely starting next year. Mehreen discussed how Pakistani dramas thrive internationally and highlighted the differences between Pakistani dramas and Indian shows. She mentioned that India began producing similar series after the massive success of “Sacred Games”.

The director highlighted the stark difference between budgets in Pakistan and India, explaining how this impacts the final product. She shared that despite working with limited budgets, Pakistan produces high-quality content. In India, she revealed, an episode can cost around 1 million dollars, whereas in Pakistan, an episode is made for about 30 lakh rupees.
