Diljit Dosanjh is facing mounting pressure after releasing the trailer of his film “Sardaar Ji 3”, which features Hania Aamir, and announcing its release exclusively in overseas markets. Following the announcement, Indian filmmaking associations began threatening Diljit for casting Hania Aamir in the film. They have also warned him that he may be blacklisted and denied future work opportunities in India.

He has now spoken to BBC Asia, revealing that he filmed “Sardaar Ji 3” in February when everything was normal. He explained that no one can predict where politics might lead in the future. According to Diljit, the producers invested a significant amount of money into the project and ultimately chose to release the film in overseas markets. While he acknowledged that cutting out India— the major territory—will result in losses, he said the team is hoping to recover at least part of their budget through international releases.
