The fifth and final T20 match of the series between England and New Zealand is tied being played in Auckland.

England clinched the Twenty20 series against New Zealand almost four months after the World Cup ended with a dramatic super over.

England, chasing 147 in a rain-affected 11-over game, needed 16 runs from the final over to wrap up the five-match series.

The match played in Auckland had to be limited to eleven overs, in which New Zealand’s Martin Guptill and Colin Munro started with a powerful batting. Both scored 83 runs in just 5 overs.

Guptill struck out 50 of 20 balls and Munro 46 out of 21 balls.

New Zealand plundered 146-5 from 11 overs, and it took Chris Jordan hitting 12 off the final three deliveries to take the game to a super over.

Jonny Bairstow, who earlier struck 47 off 18 balls, and Captain Eoin Morgan scored 17 of England’s six deliveries, before Jordan limited New Zealand to eight.

It was a remarkable finish to a rain-delayed game that contained a staggering 29 sixes in 24 overs.

England scored 17 runs in the Super over, while New Zealand team scored 8 runs, with England winning the series by 3-2.
