TV Umpires will be working instead of the on-field umpire to call no-balls in the series that will happen between West Indies and India.

According to details, the International Cricket Council stated that T20 and one-day matches will be carried out by trying technological means to call front foot no balls instead of the on-field umpire.

ICC gave their statement, “Throughout their trial, the third umpire will be responsible for monitoring every ball bowled and identifying whether there has been any front foot infringement.”

“If there has been an infringement on the front foot, the third umpire will communicate this to the on-field umpire who will subsequently call a no-ball.”

However, in two sessions of the second day of the Australia-Pakistan Test that was held last month in Brisbane, TV replays showed that over 21 no-balls were missed.

However, the former Australian player and a Television analyst considered the misses as ‘astonishing’ and said that this problem has to be solved.

The umpires’ actions were questioned even before the 21-no balls.

According to details, front-foot-no-balls are usually called by the on-field umpires which happen when bowler’s heading foot is put beyond the crease. A run is given to the batting side as the delivery is ruled illegal.

It should be remembered that India and West Indies will face each other first in three T20s and three one-day matches in Hyderabad. The series will begin on 15th December.
