Amir Khan to donate Rs 40 million to Pakistan to help combat COVID 19

British Pakistani boxer Amir Khan has announced to donate Rs 40 million to Pakistan to help fight the novel coronavirus.

Khan also offered to use his Islamabad boxing academy as a quarantine for the coronavirus patients.

Earlier Amir Khan Boxer has donated a four-storey building to the National Health Service to help out in the fight against coronavirus.

With  NHS struggling with bed shortages amid the coronavirus pandemic, the Amir Khan Boxer has allowed his 66,000 square foot building to be used by those affected.

Two-weight world champion Khan has revealed that the building was set to be turned into a wedding hall and retail outlet.

He took to social media to announce his incredible gesture, where he posed in front of the building that was to now go into NHS hands.

He said: “I am aware of how difficult it is for the public to get a hospital bed in this tragic time.

“I am prepared to give my 60,000 square foot 4 story building which is due to be a wedding hall and retail outlet to the @NHSuk to help people affected by the coronavirus. Pls keep safe.”

THE UK coronavirus death toll today rose to 465 after 43 more deaths in the last 24 hours.

Among the latest deaths is a 47-year-old with no underlying health conditions.

There were 28 deaths in England – meaning 414 have died in the country in total.

Northern Ireland tonight confirmed their death toll had risen from four to seven in the past 24 hours – bringing the total in the UK to 465.

Moreover In Scotland, deaths rose by six to 22 and in Wales five people died , taking the number of fatalities to 22.

87 more deaths were recorded in just 24 hours across the UK in the biggest leap yet.

Furthermore The UK death toll has halved since yesterday – but tonight did see the biggest increase in the number of infections across the UK – up 1,542 to 9,529.
