Pakistan’s Test Cricketer Shan Masood said that he had many experiences while representing departments.

Speaking to media via teleconference, Shan Masood said that departments played an important role in domestic cricket.

The cricketer hopes that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will arrange a window for departmental cricket.

“Departmental cricket had played an important role in Pakistan’s domestic cricket.

It has polished many youngsters like me who have learnt a lot under stalwarts,” he said.

“The PCB, I am hearing, is looking for a window to introduce a separate competition among departmental outfits and I would welcome it,” he added.

Last year, PCB shut departments and introduced revamped domestic structure based on six regions.

However, the decision faced immense criticism among cricket fraternity as many players and officials lost their jobs.
