Pakistan’s ex-fast bowler Aaqib Javed said that he had received life threat warnings during the Qayyum Report match-fixing investigations.

“They told me that they would kill me if I said anything during the inquiry,” Aaqib Javed said. “There were many things that were not revealed in the inquiry headed by Justice Qayyum and he admitted it on television as well.”

The Lahore Qalandars coach added that the judiciary hearing the case pronounced harsh punishments for the ones involved in the matter but they were given chance after imposing a fine on them. However, those people will not be hired by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for nay further important positions.

“Nevertheless, players like Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis and Mushtaq Ahmed were hired. The whole matter is about other players complaining as to why they are not being appointed by the board,” he said.

Javed further added that former Test skipper Saleem Malik should have also been given a second chance like other players.

Javed said that other players were encouraged when they saw how Mohammad Amir was welcomed back into the side like a hero following the spot-fixing scandal.
