Pakistan cricket team’s all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez sees the great future of Pakistan cricket team’s captain Babar Azam. Hafeez said the talented batsman has “yet to reach his full potential”.

Hafeez added that he once told Azam, “A talent like you is not there yet where I want to see”.

With Azam’s tremendous past performances, Hafeez hopes to see him ‘serve Pakistan for a long time”.

In the most recent Pakistan’s Test match against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi, Azam scored a career-best 143.

Recently, Azam represented Pakistan Super League (PSL) Karachi Kings, where he finished as PSL’s highest run-scorer with 345 runs in 10 games.

While giving an interview to a sports YouTube channel Hafeez said,

“He [Babar] is a brilliant performer for Pakistan. In his five-year career for Pakistan so far, he has played some amazing cricket. However, he is yet to reach his full potential, considering his talent.”

Hafeez went on to say,

“He is like my younger brother and I tell him to his face that a talent like him is not there yet where I want to see him. He is trying to push those barriers and I am confident that he will serve Pakistan for a long time.”
