Pakistan Test Captian Azhar Ali reaches milestone in his 81st Test, becomes fifth Pakistani batsman to score 6000 runs in Test cricket.

According to the details, Azhar Ali reached the milestone by hitting a four off English Pacer’s Jofra Archer towards backward point during the third day’s play of the third Test against England at Southampton.

The other players to have scored 6,000 runs in Test cricket for Pakistan include Javed Miandad, Inzamam ul Haq, Mohammad Yousuf and Younis Khan.

Of Azhar’s 6,000 runs, 2,537 were scored in the United Arab Emirates – once Pakistan home ground; 1,110 came in Dubai, 1,086 in Abu Dhabi and 341 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

During the third and the last Test series against England, Pakistan Cricket Team captain Azhar Ali has scored his first century of the series in Southampton.

In the first innings, Pakistan was bowled out for 273, however, Azhar Ali remained unbeaten on 141 runs.

Azhar Ali along with Mohmmad Rizwan put on a 138-run partnership. England bowler James Anderson picked four Pakistani wickets and Dom Bess out Fawad Alam on 21 runs.

Since 2018, Azhar Ali made his first century outside Asia. Chris Woakes however, got Rizwan’s wicket after a 138-run partnership.

Stuart Broad was then struck twice with the second new ball.

Pakistan’s white-ball captain Babar Azam also took to twitter and congratulated Azhar Ali for completing his 6000 runs in Test Cricket.

On his official twitter handle, Pakistan’s white-ball captain Babar Azam wrote:

“Ajju Bhai, congratulations on #6000Test runs. Hard work always pays off. Enjoyed every bit of your brilliant century today. #ENGvPAK”
