Misbah-ul-Haq hopes England would tour the country “soon” after the Pakistani side toured Britain during the COVID-19 pandemic.

England had not toured Pakistan since the 2005/06 season. Many believe that this was due to the terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team’s bus in Lahore back in 2009. The head coach stated that recent tours by Sri Lanka and Bangladesh and the success of the PSL show that Pakistan can provide adequate security for touring sides.

England had previously mentioned that they would tour Pakistan in 2022, however, after the recent tour to England, PCB executive Wasim khan and the head coach have shown an interest to make that visit happen sooner rather than later.

Misbah, in a column for the PCB’s website published Wednesday, said: “Looking into the future, we would really appreciate England visiting Pakistan soon.”

He added that “Players from all over the world now know about the levels of security Pakistan can provide and how much they will be welcomed. The whole cricket community needs to support
