To check the arrangements for the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Indian cricket board president Saurav Ganguly visited Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Monday morning.

According to the details, the IPL 2020‘s 12 matches will be played at the historic venue. The first IPL match will be played between Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings on 22nd September.

Ganguly along with IPL chairman Brijesh Patel, and COO Hemang Amin went to do the reccee of the stadium and spent almost two hours in Sharjah. The delegation was satisified with the preparations.

As per the details, Sharjah Cricket Stadium was the first of the three venues that BCCI team had visited. They will pay a visit to Dubai and Abu Dhabi stadiums.

It should be mentioned here that Saurav Ganguly stayed in quarantine for six days in his hotel after he arrived in Dubai on 9th September. Former Indian cricketer appreciated the stadium’s new look and said,

“It would inspire the young players to give their best at a stadium where greats like Sunny Gavaskar and Sachin Tendulkar wrote history.”
