A major setback to the preparations of football club Paris Saint Germain for the scheduled start of their Ligue 1 campaign next week, main player Neymar and three others have tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

According to the reports, PSG said in a statement said “Three Paris Saint-Germain players have confirmed positive Sars CoV2 tests and are subject to the appropriate health protocol,”

“All of the players and coaching staff will continue to undergo tests in the coming days.”

The French outfit has applied the applicable coronavirus safety protocol and the players are being placed in quarantine to avoid further infections.

The cases would appear to be linked to a holiday trip to the Spanish Mediterranean island of Ibiza that several PSG players took following the Champions League final defeat by Bayern Munich.
