The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) team defeated Southern Punjab by ten runs in the final at Rawalpindi and lifted the National T20 Cup.

According to the details Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), batting at first, managed to set the score of 206-4 onboard, opening batsman Fakhar Zaman and veteran campaigner Shoaib Malik scored half-centuries.

Fakhar scored 67 off 40 balls before being given lbw off Aamer Yamin’s bowling.

Later Shoaib Malik, dismantled Southern Punjab’s bowling line-up, scoring 56* off just 22 balls, assisting KP set Southern Punjab a target of 207.

The pace duo of Shaheen Shah Afridi and Usman Shinwari took three wickets each.

Southern Punjab did not get a perfect start, with Shaheen Afridi getting rid of Shan Masood early.

It wasn’t the only damage the tournament’s leading wicket-taker inflicted; he removed Sohaib Maqsood off the next delivery to deal a huge blow to Southern Punjab’s chances.

Zeeshan Ashraf’s 16 off 19 came to an end when he offered a regulation catch to extra cover off Wahab Riaz

Khushdil Shah fell for 34 off 24 balls. His wicket left Southern Punjab a monumental task and they eventually failed to cross the finishing line.

Shan Masood’s side Southern Punjab could only manage 196 in their 20 overs and lost the match by 10 runs.

The man fo the match was awarded to Shoaib Malik.

The top wicket-taker was the young left-arm fast bowler, Shaheen Afridi, with 20 wickets.

Mohammad Rizwan was the most successful wicket-keeper with 10 catches and 2 stumpings in the tournament.
