Sami Aslam, one of Pakistan’s leading opening batsmen, wants to quit Pakistan cricket and moving away to follow his ambitions.

Sami Aslam’s decision is likely to generate substantial waves given that he is not yet 25 and, ordinarily, would still be in argument for a slot in the national side.

Sami Aslam played 13 Tests between 2015 and 2017 and came close to creating himself as a first-choice opener.

He has since been noticeable on the domestic circuit, among the leading run gainers in last year’s Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. But problems with team management for his domestic side Southern Punjab last season have spiraled into such disillusionment that he is considering seriously overtures from USA Cricket to move there.

Even with runs on the domestic circuit since then, he hasn’t achieved to find a way back. Details aren’t yet clear, if he does go, of his opportunities in the USA, though it is likely he would be involved initially in the T20 franchise league USA Cricket is trying to establish.
