Emily Kristine wins first ever women’s golf tournament in Saudi Arabia

The Danish Professional Golfer Emily Kristine Pedersen has won the first-ever golf tournament staged in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia after a thrilling finish.

Pedersen trailed England’s Georgia Hall by three shots, later drew level on 10 under par with Birdie on the 18th to force a playoff. Organized at the Royal Greens Golf and Country Club, the Danish star proceeded to win her third tour title.

Talking to media after winning the game, Danish Professional Golfer Emily Kristine Pedersen said “It’s stressful being in playoff because it’s head to head but gives you the opportunity to go for everything. And I think I did and I’m really happy.”

Pedersen said “After the eagle miss, my caddy and I decided to go for the win. It was a little right (second shot), a difficult chip and I pulled it off.”

“It’s really great to come here, and people have been so helpful and nice. It has been a great experience,” she added.

Emily Kristine Pedersen (born 7 March 1996) is a Danish professional golfer who plays on the Ladies European Tour.

She had a successful amateur career winning the 2013 International European Ladies Amateur Championship and the 2014 British Ladies Amateur Golf Championship.

Turning professional in early 2015 she had a successful first season, finishing runner-up in the Deloitte Ladies Open and the Lacoste Ladies Open de France before winning the Hero Women’s Indian Open. She was named LET Rookie of the Year for 2015.
