The 59th meeting of the governing board of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was held today (Monday) in Lahore.

According to the details, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made a profit of Rs 3.8 billion in the year 2019-20.

Several important decisions were taken at the PCB Board of Governors meeting. The PCB Governing Board approved the appointment of 4 new independent members. The members include Javed Qureshi, Arif Saeed, Asim Wajid, and Alia Zafar.

Javed Qureshi and Arif Saeed have been appointed for three years while Asim Wajid and Alia Zafar have been appointed for two years.

PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani said,

“I welcome the newly-appointed independent members to the BoG, especially Ms. Alia Zafar, the first female independent member, which is a giant step forward in enhancing the PCB’s governance structure.”

He added,

“The four new members bring with them a wealth of diverse knowledge that will only improve the professional outlook and working of the PCB. These four individuals are highly respected and proven performers in their respective professional lives and we aim to benefit from their knowledge in our efforts to improve our governance.”

The Board of Governors commended the Board for hosting the domestic cricket season despite the difficult circumstances and expressed happiness over the conduct of the remaining four matches of the PSL Five.

The meeting also confirmed the positive progress in matters for the national cricket team’s tour of South Africa. The Board of Governors also appreciated the statement made by the Board of England on its visit to Pakistan in January.

It was informed in the meeting that the PCB has made a profit of Rs 3.8 billion in the year 2019-20.
