The second ODI match between South Africa and England which was scheduled to be played at Newlands today has been postponed.

According to the details, Cricket South Africa (CSA) and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in their collective decision announced to postpone the second match after the COVID-19 breach was reported on Friday (December 4th).

Both Cricket Boards, in their joint statement, said, “Once the findings of this review have been received, CSA and ECB will then discuss how best to proceed concerning the remaining two matches of this ODI series.”

Earlier England- 192 for 1 (Malan 99*, Buttler 67*) beat South Africa- 191 for 3 (van der Dussen 74*, du Plessis 52*) by nine wickets in the third T20 match.

England’s Malan and Buttler brushed aside their efforts with an unbeaten 167-run partnership of their own, the highest second-wicket stand in T20Is.

Malan was unbeaten on 99 from just 47 deliveries, while Buttler remained at the crease with 67 off 46 to hand England a nine-wicket victory with 14 balls to spare.

Malan was titled as the Player of the Match for the second time in a row, and Player of the Series.

It is pertinent to mention here that the third ODI between the two teams is scheduled to be played on December 9th.
