Pakistan’s star All-rounder Mohammad Hafeez becomes the leading runs scorer in T20 internationals this year with 415 runs, despite a break in cricket due to the pandemic.

Today Hafeez has scored 41 runs against New Zealand in the 3rd T20 to help guide Pakistan to victory over New Zealand.

His knock included 3 sixes and 2 fours, and it took him level with Shoaib Malik is Pakistan’s all-time T20I batting charts. The expert batsman has now scored 2323 runs in the shortest format of the game in just 99 matches, with 14 half-centuries to his name.

Overall, Hafeez has amassed 1,005 runs across all forms of T20 cricket including leagues and international cricket and is among five batsmen to score over 1,000 T20 runs this year.

Hafeez made four half-centuries. No player has scored more than four fifties in the year. The expert all-rounder smashed 20 sixes and 36 fours throughout the year Kamran Khan of Qatar and Quinton de Kock of South Africa scored 22 and 21 sixes while Dawid Malan hit 46 fours.

With 2323 international T20 runs, Mohammad Hafeez is just 12 runs behind Shoaib Malik who is Pakistan’s all-time leading T20I runs scorers.
