New Zealand Cricket Board has confirmed that an eight-member of Pakistan Cricket Squad has contracted coronavirus as the team undergoes quarantine in Christchurch.

According to the details, the health  department of New Zealand said there was one new confirmed case among the squad and a further two members were being investigated.

The health department said that two of the original cases last week

Two of the original six cases last week were eventually found to be historical, meaning they were not infectious, while the other four were active.

Moreover, a seventh member of the squad tested positive on Saturday.

The Health Department in its statement said that “The team is not allowed to train until the Canterbury DHB medical officer of health determines they are satisfied that any training activities are unlikely to transmit Covid-19.”

The team will not be allowed to train until the Canterbury DHB medical officer of health ascertains they are satisfied that coronavirus will not be spread due to training.

It is pertinent to mention here that six members of the Pakistan cricket team who traveled to New Zealand had tested positive for the coronavirus and another member also tested corona positive on the second testing.

PakVsNZ:

Pakistan and New Zealand are to play a three-match T20I series starting December 18. The two-Test series will begin on Boxing Day (December 26).
