Pakistan stand-in captain Shadab Khan has expressed that repeated mistakes by players in the second T20 International led the team to lose the three-match T20 series against New Zealand in Hamilton.

Green shirts lost the series 2-0 after their nine-wicket defeat in the second match of the series.

Shadab said in a video released by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after Green Shirts lost the second T20I against New Zealand by nine wickets at Seddon Park.

“We repeated the same mistakes and lost both matches in powerplay overs,” Shadab said. “If you lose three wickets in the first six overs, 80% of the match is in the favor of the opposition.”

He added to his statement that,

“Babar is our main player in the batting unit but it’s not an excuse. This is not a game of individuals, so you need to perform as a team.”

Praising Mohammad Hafeez for his mighty innings against the Kiwis, Shadab said that was the only positive they took from the match.

Shadab hoped the team would do better in the next game. Pakistan will play New Zealand for the third and final T20I on Tuesday in Napier.
